Indeed, I am thankful

Thanksgiving was the last holiday we celebrated before we received R's referral nearly 3 years ago. My heart ached for her, a longing I can't explain. I knew that she was out there, making her way to us. I remember the feeling of hope that I would see my child's face before Christmas that year. And we did. And it was amazing.

And, so, this year, we celebrate Thanksgiving as a family of 4. Although E was alive last year at this time, she was at HH this time last year so this was her first Thanksgiving. It was lovely.
